Well hello there! I haven’t updated my Thesis blog in forever. I believe it is partly due to my timeline being sidetracked due to my laptop loss. But a lot has kind of happened during my blog hiatus.

WEEKLY UPDATE PART ONE:

1. New laptop = time to thesis again! I bravely installed all the ID essentials and I will learn to master/conquer them so that my thesis wont eat me up alive (Hello InDesign and Illustrator!)

2. Contacted my targeted NGOs and presented them with my proposal. Well, they just replied today so, I’m hoping to get a thumbs up! So far the NGOs that replied are: PAS and ABC Foundation. I seriously got butterflies, because it hit me – my thesis could actually add something to this generation (naks!). The whole contacting NGOs thing is so serious business for me it makes me feel adult-ish. Hopefully meeting up with them soon.

3. Steady with my logo. I’m pretty settled with my logo. Unless Parker (ahem) says otherwise. I’m open to change/suggestions. Anything for the betterment of my thesis!

4. Found the photography style that I want for my thesis project. Basically it allows the clothes to speak for themselves and for the words that accompany them to pop out. White background + splashes of color. Here are the pegs I got (of course more on the business side rather than the fierce fashion side):

5. Already found models and a photographer for my sample page shoots for the 25% design output due on October 16. We’re scheduled to shoot next week. Hope it all goes well!

6. Currently looking for writers/ a writer for my thesis! Asking my parents to help me out with it too. Although, I’m quite unsure of who/what I’m looking for.

7. Kind of panicking, due to the fact that there are rumors going around that Ukay Ukays (aka Thrift Shops) will be removed from the face of the Philippines (taxes, etc.). I really need Ukay Ukays for my thesis. Which leads us to number 8…

8. Currently scouting around for brands/clothing stores that sell affordable clothes to be featured/sponsor my thesis project.

After crying and being a uncool girl who lost her opportunity to present last week due to her laptop failing her on the spot an hour before presentation, I was able to cross out “Thesis Proposal Presentation” off of my loooonngggg list of things to do before I graduate list tonight.

And I admit, it feels great! I thought the panel would not love me and would be all “Gurrrrll please!”. Haha!

Finally finished the first draft for my thesis proposal + pretend presentation.

August 18 is the day. I just need a mind blowing trailer.

I’m keeping this short, my hands are being refrigerated by the airconditioner.

Shout out to HAPEPY aka Rian who read my last post and commented. (Tear trickles down right cheek) I’m chatting with her by the way, via twitter, because we spam people’s feeds like that.

Can I Just Say?

I wish all our required subjects were all just Information Design related. I don’t know whats up with my Theology, Philosophy, Javascript, and History subjects anymore.

Thesis is becoming my life.

And I’m not so sure if it’s a good thing.

In less life questioning news, I am 6/10 pages done with my Project Proposal paper, done with my Appendix/Morgue, semi-done with my Bibliography, and my presentation is nonexistent.

That’s kind of good progress I think. Or not. Since I have so much core requirements to finish too.

Sigh.

So the debacle is over. I just have to clean it up though.

My life has been organized and planned in my Starbucks 2010 planner. But when climate moles attack, it seems like my brain gets literally washed by rain and I fin myself drifting into a cluttered world where my former plans do not exist.

Yes, thanks to the latest typhoon I’ve been living in Cluttered World.

But that shouldn’t be an excuse! Despite the lack of a laptop and electricity, I must carry on. (Tim Gunn says so)

Thesis Update Time!

1. I finally have a thesis topic! I just gotta defend it with my life and make it awesome.

2. We have a bazillion requirements to finish/do before July 28 aka Presentation Day aka my Sister’s supposed Birthday, I plan to be good and not cram and spend all my time in the library next week. I hope this happens.

After 30 minutes of random brainstorming, talks about global warming campaigns, and casual talk with thesis advisers, it seriously got me thinking…

What DO I want?

Thesis isn’t just something you throw away at the end of graduation, it’s something that will brand you for life. It will reflect who you are.

I just can’t see myself as being the designer environmentalist. I mean, I’m not well versed in the percentages of things and all. Maybe, global warming isn’t for me?

I need to know soon. Like tomorrow soon. Please come to me. Dear awesome thesis topic that will blow my mind.

Series of Unfortunate Moles

Okay, fine, not really a series. It’s just that, it may lead to a series.

You know how one ISN’T supposed to plug in your laptop even though it isn’t empty batt yet?

Well, I’m learning it the hard way. Oh Gela, plugging, and plugging, and MORE plugging. Thing is all, ALL, my files are in my laptop, and my course kind of depends on it, and now I can’t get it to turn on.

Moles moles moles.

I hope they charge cheap for Compaq batteries, and I hope I get it fixed ASAP.
